Throttle Position Versus MAP
Converting a Throttle Position (TPS) to MAP readings can be confusing.
It not an exact conversion simply because you can give a bike a relatively small amount of throttle and create a high kPa reading by forcing a high load situation. But for normal riding situations, the following "rule of thumb" can be applied:
TPS vs MAP
Throttle Position MAP- (Manifold Absolute Pressure)
- 0-6% 10-50 kPa
- 12% 40-55 kPa
- 25% 55-90 kPa
- 50% 90-100 kPa
- 50-100% 90 and higher kPa
