Now there is a low cost, simple to install solution for richening the closed loop fuel mixture on the Harley-Davidson Touring bikes with fly-by-wire throttle control. Nightrider.com Performance Products is announcing the introduction of its new FL-XIED for the 2009 and 2010 H-D Touring Bikes.

Riders have long complained about high engine heat, high exhaust heat, engine ping, poor throttle response and low RPM engine surge on the late model, closed loop ECM Harley-Davidson motorcycles. With the exception of the 2009/2010 Touring bikes, Riders have been able to upgrade their bike with Nightrider.com's XiED line of products. These effective upgrades offered a low cost alternative for stock bikes and those with exhaust/air cleaner upgrades to more expensive software tuners, piggyback controllers and dyno tuning. The OEM HD TC96/103/110 engines could all use the IED's except the 2009/2010 Touring bikes. That has all changed.
The new FL-XIED is an updated version of Nightrider.com's very popular XiED inline enrichment device that resolves compatibility issues with the 2009 Touring bikes. A simple plug-n-play device that will richen the closed loop fuel mixture on these bikes from 14.6 to 13.8:1, this inline enrichment device addresses an number of issues that Riders complain about on these bikes. The improved air fuel mixture has generally shown one or more of the following positive results:

• Lower Engine Temperature
• Lower Exhaust Temperatures
• Improved Throttle Response
• Less Engine Ping
• Less Engine Surge at low RPM

The new FL-XIED is required for use on 2009 Touring bikes. It is recommended that all 2008 Touring bikes use the FL-XIED design. For Riders wanting an adjustable IED, an updated version of the AFXiED will also be available. The AFXiED allows user adjustment of the air fuel ratio from 14.6 through 13.7 by a setting a small potentiometer. The front and rear cylinder fuel ratios can be set independently. The AFXiED also has an integrated AFR indicator in each device to help verify the fuel ratio.
There will be a '2010 Adapter Cable' that will allow the use of the FL-XIED or AFXiED on 2010 H-D Touring bikes. The 2010 Adapter Cable for the FL-XIED provides the same plug-n-play capabilities Riders expect from Nightrider.com Performance Products. Using OEM style connectors, Riders can simply plug the Adapter Cable and FL-XIED into the H-D wiring harness for a neat, clean installation. The average rider should be able to installation these in under 15 minutes.
